DBSi’s 2005 Seminar Series Now Underway

January Event for Financial Organizations Well Received

BETHLEHEM, PA, January 27, 2005 - DBSi, a leading regional provider of comprehensive disaster recovery services, started its 2005 business continuity seminar series with an informative workshop co-hosted by DEAR Group Inc. and WorldNet Technology Consultants Inc., tailored for the credit unions and community banks in the region.

The January seminar included a comprehensive review of continuity program components such as developing a business impact analysis and risk assessment, managing a business continuity program, continuity plan organization, and identifying effective continuity and recovery strategies, all focused on the particular needs of the financial industry.

Guest speaker Jay Parrish, senior vice president and chief information officer for Members1st, presented a focused appraisal of continuity options available to financial organizations, and related experiences and technologies which can meet the industry’s continuity and recovery requirements. According to Jay Parrish, “we were happy to participate in this workshop and help the attendees better understand the numerous compliance issues which mandate a good continuity capability for credit unions and community banks”.

Don Rife, president of DEAR Group Inc. (http://www.deargroup.com) presented best practices for initiating and managing a business continuity project, and Chet Winters, vice president of security practices for WorldNet (http://www.wtci.net) discussed methods of properly assessing risk and implementing effective mitigation strategies. DBSi presented a pragmatic approach to developing a usable business impact analysis, as well as a detailed review of traditional and evolving recovery strategies and solutions.

According to William Bachenberg, chief executive officer of DBSi, “in offering our complimentary seminars, our intent is to educate organizations on approaches and techniques which are available to maintain an effective level of business continuity for its data center infrastructure, network access, and mission-critical business workgroups.”.

DBSi’s next seminar event, planned for late February in the Harrisburg area, will be an interactive focus group discussion on topical issues relating to the continuity and recovery of critical workgroups. Other events throughout the year will focus on specific industries such as pharmaceutical and health care, techniques for minimizing an organization’s recovery time objective, preservation of critical transaction data using replication, and approaches to workgroup continuity.
